John, I especially love the stamp. And I see big things on the horizon for Jesus.
It's nice to know someone else has stalled...I mean "in progress", pieces.
Robert Saunders March 7, 2007
Let me be the second to give these "oeuvres dans progresse" the recognition they deserve:
What are you, some kind of nut???
But seriously, John, how can I be serious when assessing the madcap, herculean, creative genius that informs these here objets de art? I mean that killer piece with bird is majorly done, man. With the scrambled egg/big hairdo and all? Suffice it to say, the bird is laughing at humanity. Case closed.
And underwear girl...Let's see... Stamp her behind with an Esso logo, bump up the saturation, and you're there.
As to Texaco Christ with Wagoneer Poppin' Wheelie, I see an Oscar Meyer hot dog floating (or at rest) in the front yard of the split-level, maybe some mustard flowing out of it, slightly transparent so it relates to the Jesus ghost.
Finito!
You're one wild and crazy guy, John...gotta love the playful spirit in these here ouvres!

Dale - yes - 'In progress'... so much nicer than the 's' word.
Robert - I have a more saturated version 'Young Woman At Crossroads Over JP's Club' - but it, well... it is less dignifying. But an Esso logo.... Hmmmm...
Robert Saunders March 7, 2007
"...Less dignifying"? Email it to me and I'll give a more comprehensive critique if you want!
(the rest edited for reasons of it sounded really stupid).

Yikes!
Robert Saunders March 7, 2007
Problem fixed, J.D.
Actually the Esso idea would not pass muster in civilized society now that I see how it reads and remember what century I'm living in. I'll leave it up but please disregard it as the spontaneous byproduct of a distracted mind.

Esso, iPod, illoz...whatever, as long as the subtext is "male domination by means of technological innovation and/or gas fumes."

Wow, the police have invaded the joint. Even after I edited my post realizing how silly it sounded. Guess the police are anxious to make an arrest.

Let me update my "Yikes" to my customary "Yikes, Dykes!"
The only crazy man around here I'm accusing of craziness is JS Dykes. But in a good way, of course. Crazy as in, "Crazy, man, crazy!"
Bob Staake March 7, 2007
hey! where'd that post go by the woman accusing saunders of being a nazi feminist?!
david Flaherty March 7, 2007
John I like the Jesus painting best. I wish the line of lettering was not there though. keep em coming.
Scott Bakal March 7, 2007
They're all awesome but the bird painting is amazing. Great job, my man!
Zina Saunders March 8, 2007
Great stuff, John. Really love the wild expression on the bird and the designs on him and the srumbly backgound painting and the ghosty images.
